Rian Johnson's stylish whodunit series Poker Face is back for a second season, with Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne reprising her role as human lie detector Charlie Cale. Premiering exclusively on Sky and streaming service NOW on May 8 in the UK, the new season launches with a three-episode drop, followed by weekly releases.
Season one earned widespread acclaim for its sharp writing, strong performances, and retro flair. Lyonne's portrayal of Charlie, a woman with an uncanny ability to spot a lie, helped the show stand out from a crowded field of crime dramas. In season two, Charlie continues her cross-country road trip in a dusty Plymouth Barracuda, stumbling into new towns, new characters, and strange crimes that demand her attention.
The show's creative pedigree remains as strong as ever. Rian Johnson, the filmmaker behind Knives Out and Glass Onion, created and directed several episodes. Lyonne also returns as a key creative voice, contributing as writer, director, and executive producer. Tony Tost serves as showrunner, joined by a production team that includes Ram Bergman, Nena Rodrigue, Adam Arkin, Nora Zuckerman, and Lilla Zuckerman.
With its mystery-of-the-week format, inventive storytelling, and Lyonne's distinctive presence, Poker Face continues to deliver compelling television that feels both fresh and nostalgic. Season two raises the stakes while keeping the fun and unpredictability that made the first season such a hit.
