ITV has released the first official trailer for its new crime thriller Code of Silence, offering a striking preview of the six-part series that stars Rose Ayling-Ellis in a defining role. The 90-second teaser sets the stage for a story that blends tension, vulnerability, and sharp psychological drama, while spotlighting Deaf representation in a way rarely seen on British television.

Created and written by Catherine Moulton, and directed by Diarmuid Goggins, Code of Silence follows Alison Brooks, played by Ayling-Ellis, a sharp and capable Deaf woman whose exceptional lip-reading abilities draw her into the world of covert police surveillance. After being approached by DS Ashleigh Francis (Charlotte Ritchie) and DI James Marsh (Andrew Buchan), Alison agrees to assist in tracking a criminal gang planning a high-stakes heist. Her job is to silently observe and interpret dangerous conversations, placing her at the heart of a risky undercover operation.

The series quickly escalates when Alison develops a bond with Liam Barlow, a young and conflicted gang recruit played by Kieron Moore. As their connection deepens, Alison's loyalties are tested and her identity as an informant is put on the line. Her journey becomes a tightrope walk between duty, personal danger, and emotional conflict, all while navigating the challenges of being underestimated in a world that rarely listens.

Alongside its gripping narrative, Code of Silence also signals a step forward in authentic casting and representation. Rose Ayling-Ellis, best known for her work on EastEnders and as the first Deaf contestant to win Strictly Come Dancing, brings both nuance and power to the role. The supporting cast adds further depth, with standout performances from Charlotte Ritchie, Andrew Buchan, and Kieron Moore.

Code of Silence is more than just another thriller. It's a character-driven story about identity, resilience, and the importance of being heard, set against a backdrop of crime, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. The series is expected to arrive on ITV and ITVX soon, and it's already shaping up to be one of the most compelling drama offerings of the year.
