The 69th Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place in Basel, Switzerland, following Nemo's triumph at the Grand Final in May 2024 with their song The Code. With the countdown already well underway, here's everything you need to know about Eurovision 2025 on the BBC.
The Grand Final of Eurovision 2025 will be held at St. Jakobshalle in Basel on Saturday 17 May. The Semi-Finals will take place earlier in the week, on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May. Eurovision fans can tune in live across multiple platforms, with the BBC continuing its coverage under the production of BBC Studios. Both the Grand Final and the Semi-Finals will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, while fans can also listen live on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
The United Kingdom will be represented by the pop trio Remember Monday, who will perform their song What The Hell Just Happened? at the contest. The trio, consisting of Charlotte, Holly, and Lauren, are known for their impressive vocals and perfect harmonies. The song, which has already been released, tells the tale of a fun, wild night out and captures the band's signature energetic style and relatable humour. Co-written by Remember Monday alongside Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard, and Julie 'Kill J' Aagaard, What The Hell Just Happened? promises to bring a fresh, dynamic sound to the competition.
The Eurovision 2025 presenters have also been revealed. Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker, and Sandra Studer will host the Grand Final, while Brugger and Studer will also take on the Semi-Final hosting duties. Brugger, an award-winning comedian and presenter, has been a familiar face in the entertainment industry, while Hunziker is one of Switzerland's most recognised personalities internationally. Studer brings a personal connection to Eurovision, having represented Switzerland at the contest in 1991, where she finished in 5th place with her song Canzone Per Te.
The first Semi-Final will take place on 13 May and will feature countries including Sweden, Ukraine, Slovenia, and Iceland. Countries like Italy, Spain, and Switzerland will have voting rights in this Semi-Final. The second Semi-Final will air on 15 May, with acts from Austria, Lithuania, Greece, and Australia among those taking part. France, Germany, and the United Kingdom will be able to vote during this Semi-Final. The full running order for both Semi-Finals will be announced closer to the event.
With excitement building around the UK's entry and the impressive host lineup, Eurovision 2025 is shaping up to be a memorable event. Make sure to tune in across BBC One, BBC iPlayer, and BBC Sounds for live coverage, as Switzerland hosts the next chapter of this iconic competition.
