Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is back to explore more of Britain's boldest and most eccentric homes, as Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Outrageous Homes. Produced by IWC Media, the creators behind Location, Location, Location, the show celebrates homeowners who dare to embrace their wildest design dreams and transform their living spaces into personal masterpieces, no matter how unconventional.
Each episode follows Laurence as he steps inside homes with jaw-dropping designs and fascinating stories behind them. Whether it's a pirate party pad, a vampire-themed lair or an underwater Atlantis, he meets the people who pour their hearts and souls into creating spaces that reflect their personalities. Laurence, known for his love of maximalism, delights in uncovering the inspiration behind each homeowner's vision, applauding their courage to break free from the ordinary and create something truly extraordinary.
Reflecting on the new series, Laurence said, "Twenty-eight years ago when I filmed the first episode of Changing Rooms, I suspected that this nation wasn't actually the aesthetic blandscape it appeared to be. Now, with Outrageous Homes Season Deux (The Glampire Strikes Back), I'll be up to the armpits in weird. Homeowners who dare to be different are the beating heart of this celebratory telly feast, and I can't wait to spend time with yet more carbon-based lifeforms who will never be afraid of living life THEIR way."
The first series proved to be a hit, with viewers captivated by the show's joyful celebration of individuality and the sheer fun of seeing homes that turn design rules upside down. Deborah Dunnett, commissioning editor for Channel 4, said that the success of the first series made bringing Laurence back an easy decision. Gerard Costello, Head of Popular Factual for IWC, added that Britain has become a nation of fearless design pioneers and that for those pushing the boundaries of home decor, a visit from Laurence is the ultimate badge of honour.
With its blend of humour, heart and eye-popping design, Outrageous Homes is a reminder that our homes are an extension of who we are, and that living with joy and creativity is always worth celebrating. The new series promises to take viewers on an even more extraordinary journey, shining a spotlight on the people who proudly fill their homes with imagination, personality and a fearless love of self-expression.
