Claudia Winkleman is back on Channel 4 with a new series of One Question, the quiz show that seems simple but quickly proves to be anything but. Contestants are given just one question and sixteen possible answers, but only one is correct. With £100,000 at stake, the challenge is to choose wisely under pressure.

After speaking with Claudia Winkleman, we learnt a lot.

Winkleman was drawn to the show for its straightforward concept and was excited to return for another series. She loves the purity of the format, with no flashing lights or unnecessary complications. She knows, however, that while it sounds easy, it is far from it. Contestants often walk in feeling confident, but once they sit in the studio, their certainty begins to unravel. Some questions seem obvious to those watching at home, but in the moment, doubt can creep in and change everything.

This series brings even more drama, with contestants arriving determined to take risks but quickly becoming cautious when faced with difficult decisions. Winkleman admits she still struggles not to help them and has had to be kept in the dark about the answers to prevent her from giving anything away. She also hints at a major win this season, describing a moment so emotional that it brought her to tears, something she insists rarely happens.

A new addition to this series is the presence of a live studio audience, which adds excitement but also a new challenge. Winkleman jokes that she is constantly reminding them to stay quiet, fearing that even a small reaction could influence a contestant's choice. Behind the scenes, her snack preferences remain the same, with beef Hula Hoops and Ribena still the essentials, though Butterkist popcorn has made its way onto the menu.

Despite her busy schedule, Winkleman has no plans to take on any new projects. She feels lucky to be part of shows she genuinely loves and sees no reason to add more. She is excited for the return of The Piano and cannot wait for viewers to see the new series. For now, though, all attention is on One Question, which returns to Channel 4 on Friday 14 February at 8pm.
