The BBC has announced the highly anticipated release of Agatha Christie's Towards Zero, a new three-part adaptation of one of the legendary author's classic mysteries. All episodes will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Sunday 2nd March, with the first episode airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening. The series, produced by Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited in collaboration with BritBox International, brings together an all-star cast and promises a gripping tale of jealousy, deceit, and murder.

Set in 1936 England, Towards Zero unfolds at Gull's Point, the coastal estate of Lady Tressilian, played by Anjelica Huston. The drama revolves around British tennis star Nevile Strange, portrayed by Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who makes the surprising decision to spend the summer at his childhood home alongside both his ex-wife Audrey, played by Ella Lily Hyland, and his new wife Kay, played by Mimi Keene. Their uneasy gathering, along with an intriguing mix of guests—including a brooding cousin with a grudge, a mysterious valet, and a family lawyer with secrets—sets the stage for murder. As tensions rise and old wounds resurface, a troubled detective, played by Matthew Rhys, must untangle the complex web of betrayal and rivalry before the killer strikes again.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Clarke Peters as the enigmatic family lawyer Mr Treves, Jack Farthing as the estranged Thomas Royde, Anjana Vasan as lady's companion Mary Aldin, Adam Hugill as the secretive valet Mac, and Grace Doherty as the inquisitive orphan Sylvia. The adaptation has been brought to the screen by BAFTA-nominated writer Rachel Bennette and is directed by Olivier Award-winning filmmaker Sam Yates. Filming took place in and around Bristol and along the scenic Devon coast, bringing Christie's evocative setting to life.

Following the success of Murder is Easy in 2023, which drew an average of seven million viewers, Towards Zero is the latest in the BBC's series of high-profile Christie adaptations. With its explosive love triangle, a house party brimming with hidden motives, and a murder that shakes a privileged household to its core, the series is set to captivate audiences once again. Fans of Agatha Christie's work can also revisit previous adaptations produced by Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited, all of which are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
