Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at its upcoming golf comedy series, Stick, set to premiere on 4 June 2025. The new show, which is both starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson, is created by Jason Keller. The 10-episode season will launch with three episodes on the premiere day, with a new episode released every Wednesday until the season finale on 23 July.

Stick introduces audiences to Pryce Cahill, an ex-professional golfer played by Wilson, whose career came to an abrupt halt two decades ago. Now, a broken man after the end of his marriage and the loss of his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce finds his last shot at redemption in the form of a 17-year-old golf prodigy named Santi, portrayed by Peter Dager. The series follows their unlikely partnership, exploring themes of hope, family, and second chances against the backdrop of the golf world—one not often seen on screen.

Alongside Wilson and Dager, Stick boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant. The show also features guest appearances from some of the biggest names in golf, such as Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, and Wyndham Clark. Broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman, along with popular figures in the golf community like Matt Scharff from Good Good, will also make cameo appearances, adding an authentic touch to the series' setting.

The heart of Stick lies in its exploration of a "found family"—the often quirky, sometimes messy relationships that form between its characters. While centred around the sport of golf, the series promises to offer a fresh perspective on the sport, blending comedy with heartfelt moments. The characters' personal journeys and their growth together form the emotional core of the series, making it a feel-good experience for audiences of all kinds.

The show is led by Jason Keller, who not only serves as the creator but also as showrunner and executive producer. Owen Wilson, Ben Silverman of Propagate Content, and Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360 are also executive producing the series. Directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, known for their work on Little Miss Sunshine, join a talented team that includes David Dobkin, Jaffar Mahmood, M.J. Delaney, and John Hamburg, all of whom bring their unique flair to the show's direction.

With its blend of comedy, sports, and heartwarming storytelling, Stick looks set to become a standout show on Apple TV+ when it debuts in June 2025. Whether you're a golf enthusiast or simply a fan of character-driven comedies, this series promises to offer something for everyone.
