Apple TV+ has released the trailer and key art for its latest conspiracy thriller, Prime Target, an eight-episode series set to premiere globally on 22 January. Starring SAG Award winner Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell, the drama promises a gripping exploration of secrets, betrayal, and the high-stakes world of mathematical discovery. Created by Steve Thompson, known for his work on Sherlock and Vienna Blood, the series is produced by New Regency in collaboration with Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions.

The story follows Edward Brooks, a brilliant young postgraduate played by Woodall, whose groundbreaking research into prime numbers could potentially unlock every computer system on the planet. As Edward inches closer to his revolutionary breakthrough, he realises he has become the target of a shadowy force bent on silencing him. His discoveries draw the attention of Taylah Sanders, an NSA agent portrayed by Swindell, tasked with monitoring mathematicians but soon drawn into Edward's perilous world. Together, they begin to uncover a conspiracy with ramifications far beyond anything they could have imagined.

The cast boasts an impressive ensemble, including Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell. Their performances promise to bring depth and intrigue to the high-octane narrative. Directed by Brady Hood, known for his work on Top Boy and Great Expectations, all eight episodes are infused with his signature visual style and storytelling finesse.

Executive producers include Ed Rubin for New Regency, alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan, and Michael Schaefer. Scott Free Productions' Marina Brackenbury, David W. Zucker, and Ridley Scott also serve as executive producers. The series showcases the collaborative vision of a team dedicated to creating a thriller that is as cerebral as it is suspenseful.

With its premiere just around the corner, Prime Target is poised to captivate audiences with its blend of intellectual intrigue and intense drama, marking another standout production for Apple TV+.
