Mark Williams is set to reprise his beloved role as Father Brown, the insightful and charismatic clergyman detective inspired by the iconic character from G.K. Chesterton's classic stories. Joining him in the upcoming episodes of this much-loved cosy-crime series are familiar faces Tom Chambers as Chief Inspector Sullivan, Claudie Blakley as Mrs Devine, Ruby-May Martinwood as Brenda, and John Burton as Sergeant Goodfellow.

The series opens with Kembleford abuzz with excitement as preparations for Mrs Devine and Chief Inspector Sullivan's wedding get underway. Following a dramatic proposal in the previous series finale, the upcoming nuptials promise to bring joy to the sleepy village. However, a surprise visit from the groom's father soon threatens to derail the celebrations. With emotions running high and unexpected challenges emerging, the question looms: will the couple make it to the altar?

The latest series also brings a mix of new mysteries and adventures. Highlights include a medieval-themed death at a Tudor battle re-enactment, a shocking murder accusation against Mrs Devine, and a pivotal moment for Sergeant Goodfellow as his career hangs in the balance. Meanwhile, Brenda is poised to dazzle audiences with her ballroom dancing skills on national television. As ever, Father Brown remains at the heart of the action, juggling local crimes with an intriguing new mission from the Vatican. This secret task forces him to team up with his old rival Flambeau while contending with a shadowy new adversary.

Since its debut on BBC Daytime in 2013, Father Brown has become a global phenomenon, amassing a loyal following over 130 episodes. The 11th series, which concluded recently, captivated 2.5 million viewers on average and continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. From the United States to South Korea, the show's blend of gentle humour and compelling mysteries has made it a firm favourite across continents.

The series' enduring appeal has secured its future, with a 13th series already commissioned for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Father Brown is produced by BBC Studios Drama, with Neil Irvine as the Executive Producer and David Innes Edwards as the Series Producer. Helen Munson oversees the series as Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime, while BBC Studios ensures its continued international distribution.

Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to Kembleford's mysteries, this season promises intrigue, laughter, and heartwarming moments aplenty. Father Brown is ready to charm audiences once again, proving that some characters never lose their timeless appeal.
