ITV has secured the rights to air Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, Disney+'s hit documentary about the infamous libel case that gripped Britain, on ITVX and ITV2. This special timing aligns with Coleen Rooney's appearance on the new season of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and promises to pull viewers back into the dramatic events behind her widely publicized legal battle.

The documentary sheds light on how Coleen Rooney, a household name in British celebrity culture and wife of football icon Wayne Rooney, took on a new role as an amateur detective. Baffled by repeated leaks of personal stories to the tabloids, Coleen embarked on a private investigation to unearth who was behind it. In a move that would capture the public's imagination, she crafted a plan to post false stories on her private Instagram account, selectively hiding them from everyone but one specific account. When these fabricated stories appeared in the press, Coleen famously unveiled her findings with the now-iconic Instagram declaration: "It's…… Rebekah Vardy's account." The post went viral, sparking an internet frenzy and igniting what would become known as the "Wagatha Christie" saga.

The documentary not only recounts the events leading up to her high-profile Instagram post but also takes viewers inside the courtroom as Coleen defended herself in a libel lawsuit brought by Rebekah Vardy. With unprecedented access to Coleen, her family, and her legal team, The Real Wagatha Story brings viewers closer to the high-stakes legal battle, exploring how Coleen prepared for and ultimately won one of the UK's most talked-about defamation cases in recent history. Beyond the case, the documentary provides a reflective look at Coleen's life under the relentless scrutiny of fame over the last two decades.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story is available to stream on Disney+ and will soon air on ITVX and ITV2, offering a fresh opportunity for viewers to revisit one of Britain's biggest celebrity scandals.
