Steven Frayne, the magician known to most of us as Dynamo, is back in a big way this Christmas with a brand-new Sky Original special that promises to be as mind-bending as it is heartwarming. After a dramatic and mysterious "death" last year in his special Dynamo Is Dead, Steven is now re-emerging to remind us all why he's still Britain's most beloved magician. This time, he's returning to his roots, taking his street magic back where it all began – to everyday settings, among everyday people.
The new show, titled Miracles (working title), is more than just a magic performance; it's a journey. Steven's set to travel across the country, meeting local heroes, shining a light on their incredible stories, and giving back in the most magical way he knows how. It's part magic, part tribute to those unsung heroes who make a real difference in their communities, with a whole lot of jaw-dropping illusions along the way. Fans can expect the mix of wonder and inspiration that makes his work so unique, but with a fresh sense of personal connection and a sprinkle of Christmas cheer.
The Christmas Special will feature Dynamo's signature blend of street magic and larger-than-life illusions, leading up to what's promised to be an intense, high-stakes finale – the kind of spectacle only Dynamo could pull off. We're told Steven will attempt a feat that goes beyond anything he's tried before, risking everything for one final, unforgettable moment. Whether you're a longtime fan or someone who's just intrigued by what he might pull off next, it sounds like this one will have everyone on the edge of their seats.
Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky's Executive Director of Unscripted Originals, teased what's to come, saying that spending time with Steven is "a truly magical experience" and that audiences should prepare for a "rollercoaster of emotions." And with a 90-minute runtime, there's plenty of room for all the mystery, suspense, and warm fuzzies that come with a Dynamo production.
With Miracles, Sky continues its tradition of offering original, boundary-pushing content. The show has been commissioned by Shirley Jones for Sky and produced in collaboration with Seventeen 17 and Expectation, with Steven Frayne himself taking on an executive producer role alongside Rowland French and Ben Wicks.
For Steven, this show marks a triumphant return not only to magic but also to the raw, interactive format that made him a household name. It's set to air on Sky Max and NOW streaming this Christmas – so whether you're tuning in for the magic, the suspense, or just to see what Steven's got up his sleeve, Miracles is one Christmas special you won't want to miss.
So, keep an eye on the schedule, gather your friends and family, and get ready for an evening of heart-stopping, mind-blowing magic, courtesy of the one and only Steven Frayne.
