Channel 4 has announced the return of "Millionaire Hoarders" for a second series, following the success of its debut run last August. Produced by Manchester-based Purple Productions, the series will feature eight hour-long episodes delving into the UK's hidden treasures.
The show's first series captivated audiences, with over 1.1 million viewers tuning in to witness the discovery of rare and valuable items, including a painting potentially worth over a million pounds. The upcoming series promises even more excitement, as experts from the fields of antiques, collectibles, interiors, and fashion uncover valuable items and share the intriguing stories behind them.
"Millionaire Hoarders" explores the social history and potential worth of the objects found, aiming to uncover life-changing sums of money from items collecting dust in attics and spare rooms. In an era where every penny counts, the show offers a unique opportunity to turn forgotten heirlooms into much-needed financial boosts.
The series features a team of professional fortune finders who will assist passionate collectors in freeing up money by securing the best possible prices for their items. The experts will leverage their knowledge, expertise, and extensive contacts to research, restore, and sell the items on behalf of their clients. The challenge lies in meeting the agreed valuation.
Pam Cavannagh, Joint Creative Director of Purple Productions, expressed her excitement about the new series: "We are looking forward to unearthing amazing items that are as rich in story as they are in value."
Simon Lee, Commissioning Executive for Channel 4 Documentaries and Factual Entertainment, also shared his enthusiasm: "The first series was an utter delight and offered a unique insight into the fascinating world of antiques, collectibles, and other hidden valuables. I'm delighted it's returning and look forward to having a sneak peek into these extraordinary homes and their potentially valuable pieces that could transform individuals' lives."
"Millionaire Hoarders" was commissioned for Channel 4 by Simon Lee, with the format developed by Hannah Brownhill. The series editor is Zoe Thorman, and it is executive produced by Pam Cavannagh and Dympna Jackson for Purple Productions, part of Objective Media Group, an All3Media company. The series will be distributed by All3Media International.
Fans of the show can look forward to more thrilling discoveries and heartwarming stories when "Millionaire Hoarders" returns to Channel 4.
