Sky and NOW have unveiled the official trailer for The Franchise, a fresh and hilarious take on the chaotic world of superhero moviemaking. The eight-episode series is set to debut on Monday, October 21st, and promises a sharp, comedic look at the behind-the-scenes madness of franchise filmmaking.
The show follows a hopeful but trapped film crew navigating the absurd, dysfunctional, yet joyous "hellscape" of producing a superhero blockbuster. The all-star cast includes Himesh Patel as Daniel, Aya Cash as Anita, Jessica Hynes as Steph, and Billy Magnussen as Adam, among others. Richard E. Grant and Daniel Brühl also appear as recurring guest stars.
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes, The Franchise is written by Jon Brown, who also serves as showrunner. The series boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Mendes, Pippa Harris, Armando Iannucci, and others, promising a unique blend of satire and humor in the world of big-budget filmmaking.
