Sky Announces Return of 'Rob Beckett's Smart TV' for a Second Series, Plus New Podcast Hosted by Alison Hammond

Sky has officially announced that the hit panel show Rob Beckett's Smart TV will return for a second series on Sky Max. The popular TV-themed show, hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, will once again bring laughter and nostalgia to screens in 2025 with six new episodes, each lasting 45 minutes.

As fans of the first series will recall, Beckett is joined by two beloved team captains: the quick-witted TV fanatic Josh Widdicombe and the ever-charming Alison Hammond, whose infectious energy and deep love of television make her a perfect fit for the role. The show is a joyful celebration of television, revisiting everything we love about the small screen – from iconic shows to guilty pleasures – and poking fun at a few missteps along the way.

The return of Rob Beckett's Smart TV is sure to delight viewers who appreciate the light-hearted look at TV history and culture, with the dynamic chemistry between the hosts playing a major part in the show's success.

As if returning to our screens wasn't exciting enough, Alison Hammond is set to expand her TV expertise with the launch of the Smart TV podcast, a new spinoff that promises to be just as entertaining as its televised counterpart. Known for her bubbly personality and extensive experience across numerous TV formats, Hammond is the perfect host to take the series into the podcasting world.

The podcast, set to debut with a working title of The Smart TV Podcast, will feature 21 episodes where Hammond sits down with a different celebrity guest each week. These stars will discuss the shows that shaped their lives, sharing personal anecdotes and memories about the television that influenced them. Fans can also expect some juicy insider stories, with Hammond offering her own unique insights from years of experience working on some of the UK's most popular TV shows.

Given Hammond's impressive background as a presenter, host, and guest on numerous TV programs, her new role in the podcast realm is bound to be packed with her signature charm, laughter, and irreverence.

With Beckett at the helm, viewers can anticipate a format similar to the first series, which cleverly combined comedy with affectionate critiques of beloved (and not-so-beloved) TV moments. The team captains – Widdicombe, with his sharp, sarcastic humor, and Hammond, with her boundless enthusiasm – are an entertaining duo, often sparking hilarious interactions as they reminisce and compete to prove their television expertise.

Fans of British television, trivia lovers, and comedy aficionados alike will find plenty to enjoy as Rob Beckett's Smart TV once again takes audiences on a journey through TV's greatest moments.

The series will be available on Sky Max and streaming via NOW in 2025, marking yet another collaboration between Beckett, Hammond, and Widdicombe that promises to bring laughs, nostalgia, and some surprising television tidbits to our screens.

With the added bonus of Alison Hammond's new podcast, it's safe to say 2025 is shaping up to be a stellar year for TV lovers.
