Channel 4 has unveiled the first images from the highly anticipated second series of Everyone Else Burns, set to return later this year. The RTS award-winning comedy, which garnered widespread acclaim in its debut season, continues its sharp and satirical take on religious extremism through the lens of the eccentric Lewis family.

Co-produced by Jax Media UK (a division of Imagine Entertainment) and Universal International Studios (part of Universal Studio Group), the show sees the return of Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners), Kate O'Flynn (Landscapers), Amy James-Kelly (Military Wives), and Harry Connor (Robin and the Hoods). This season, the Lewis family will face even greater challenges as their commitment to their faith-based community, known as The Order, is tested like never before.

New cast member Sian Clifford (Fleabag) joins the ensemble as Maude, an imposing and devout new member of The Order. Maude's arrival threatens to lead David (Simon Bird) astray, introducing fresh tension within the family dynamic. The images also give a sneak peek at Arsher Ali (Funny Woman) reprising his role as Elder Samson, as well as newcomer Paddy Young (Timewasters) who stars as Jeb, a potential love interest for Rachel (Amy James-Kelly).

As relationships take center stage this season, viewers will witness Rachel's burgeoning drive for independence, which is complicated by the looming threat of an arranged marriage. Meanwhile, the cracks in Fiona (Kate O'Flynn) and David's marriage begin to widen, adding further strain to the already fragile family unit. Aaron (Harry Connor) embarks on a bold, revolutionary mission to bring The Order into the modern age—an effort that promises to be both assisted and hindered by his well-meaning but often misguided father.

Everyone Else Burns is the brainchild of writers Dillon Mapletoft and Oliver Taylor, who continue to serve as executive producers alongside Brooke Posch, Tony Hernandez, Molly Seymour, and Jax Media's Jake Fuller and Dave Binegar. Olly Cambridge (A Whole Lifetime with Jamie Demetriou) takes on the role of producer, with Jamie Jay Johnson (Starstruck) returning to direct.

The series was greenlit by Channel 4's Head of Comedy, Charlie Perkins, and Comedy Commissioning Editor, Laura Riseam. Filming took place in Manchester, with specific transmission details set to be announced soon.

The return of Everyone Else Burns promises to be a must-watch, blending the show's signature dark humor with new characters and plot twists that will keep audiences both laughing and on the edge of their seats.
