Apple TV+ Unveils Trailer for Season Two of "Jane" Series

Jane

Apple TV+ has recently dropped the trailer for the much-anticipated second season of the Emmy Award-winning series "Jane." This mission-driven show, geared towards kids and families, draws inspiration from the groundbreaking work of renowned ethologist and conservationist, Dr. Jane Goodall. The series, a collaboration between Emmy Award winner J.J. Johnson, Sinking Ship Entertainment, and the Jane Goodall Institute, is set to premiere globally on Friday, April 19.

"Jane" follows the adventures of Jane Garcia, portrayed by Ava Louise Murchison ("Reacher"), a 9-year-old environmental enthusiast determined to protect endangered animals. With her vivid imagination as her tool, Jane embarks on epic escapades alongside her best friends, David (played by Mason Blomberg of "Shameless"), and Greybeard the chimpanzee. Their mission is clear: to safeguard wildlife across the globe, echoing the wisdom of their idol, Dr. Jane Goodall, who famously said, "Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, can they be saved."

Dr. Goodall herself has expressed her support for the series, recognizing its value in inspiring children and families to take action for the environment. She commended Apple TV+ and Sinking Ship Entertainment for their dedication to environmentally conscious storytelling, believing that such initiatives encourage youth to become stewards of the planet.

For Sinking Ship Entertainment, the production of "Jane" marks another milestone in their collaboration with Apple TV+, following the success of the acclaimed series "Ghostwriter," which garnered a Daytime Emmy Award. "Jane" stands out as a live-action/CGI blended series, offering a unique visual experience for viewers.

Created by J.J. Johnson and executive produced by a team including Christin Simms, Blair Powers, Matt Bishop, and Andria Teather from the Jane Goodall Institute, "Jane" has already received accolades, winning a Children's and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Visual Effects for a Live Action Program. Additionally, it has been recognized by the Environmental Media Association Awards in the Children's Television category.

As the world grapples with environmental challenges, "Jane" serves as a beacon of hope, empowering young audiences with the belief that they can make a difference in preserving the planet and its diverse ecosystems. With its compelling storytelling and commitment to environmental advocacy, "Jane" continues to inspire a new generation of environmentalists, echoing the enduring legacy of Dr. Jane Goodall.
