BBC Acquires Cold War Thriller "Spy/Master" for iPlayer and TV Channels

Filmed in Romania and Hungary, "Spy/Master" follows the perilous exploits of Victor Godeanu, portrayed by Alec Secăreanu, known for his roles in "Happy Valley" and "God's Own Country." Godeanu, the trusted right-hand man of Romanian President Nicolae Ceaușescu, finds himself in a precarious position when his allegiance to the Soviets is on the brink of exposure. Seizing an opportunity during a diplomatic trip to Germany, Godeanu plots to defect to the United States, navigating a treacherous landscape fraught with danger and intrigue.

Assisted by undercover Stasi agent Ingrid Von Weizendorff, played by Svenja Jung, and CIA agent Frank Jackson, portrayed by Parker Sawyers, Godeanu embarks on a high-stakes journey to evade the clutches of the KGB and his own country's intelligence agencies.
